- WORKERS’ COMPENSATION – Workplace injuries are on the rise, and so too are the number of Workers’ Compensation claims being filed by injured employees. While most workplace accidents result in minor injuries, there are many cases in which the employee sustains significant injury or even death. These injuries lead to the filing of what’s known as a workers’ compensation claim. Workers’ Compensation laws are designed to provide injured or disabled employees, or in some cases their dependents, compensation for their injuries and medical expenses. I have years of experienced representing injured and disabled workers in hearings before the North Carolina Industrial Commission. I will pursue your claim with the vigor and skill necessary to achieve a favorable award on your behalf. If you’ve been injured on the job and would like me to evaluate your claim, contact me today.
- FAMILY LAW – I handle a wide variety of domestic relations matters, including Divorce, Child Support, Custody, Visitation, and Paternity.
- DUI/DWI – Drinking and driving offenses are not taken lightly by the public or the criminal justice system. Laws regarding DUI/DWI offenses are constantly changing as well as the penalties associated with these crimes. Therefore, it is imperative that anyone charged with a drunk driving offense contact an experienced and competent attorney immediately to ensure the preservation of their legal rights. I have more than 13 years of experience representing individuals in criminal court charged with DUI/DWI. I also represent clients in driver’s license suspension and reinstatement hearings to assist them in regaining their driving privileges. If you or someone you know is facing a DUI/DWI charge, contact me today.
- TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS – As a result of my growing DUI/DWI practice, I have extended my legal services to include traffic violation representation. If you’ve been cited for a traffic violation such as speeding, mechanical violation, equipment violation, or other moving violation, you should consult with an attorney immediately to learn about the possible consequences including fines, court costs, and impact on driving privileges.
- LEMON LAW – In 1987, North Carolina enacted a law known as “lemon law” to provide remedies to consumers who buy or lease a new car that is a “lemon.” A car is deemed a “lemon” if it is “seriously defective” and cannot be repaired “in a reasonable number of attempts.” If the vehicle is not fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, the purchaser or leasing consumer is entitled to choose a comparable, new replacement vehicle or a refund. The lemon law statute is subject to a variety of interpretations causing the litigation of many “lemon law” claims. I have litigated numerous “lemon law” claims on behalf of consumers and have been successful in receiving the statutory remedies available to such consumers. If you have purchased or are leasing a new vehicle that is continuing to give you mechanical problems, contact me today to discuss your legal rights.
- SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY – Social Security Disability is a benefit received from the Social Security Administration by disabled workers, and is some instances, their dependents. I represent individual claimants through the application process as well as the appeal process in cases where benefits have been denied.
- MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS – According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, every 10 seconds someone in the United States is involved in an auto accident. In these cases, it is essential that measures be taken promptly to preserve evidence, investigate the accident in question, and have physicians or other expert witnesses thoroughly evaluate any injuries. Because an attorney can best help you accomplish all of these things, if you have been involved in an automobile accident, it is strongly recommended that you contact an attorney to evaluate your case as soon as possible. I have experience representing injured parties, known as the Plaintiffs, in car accident cases to recover payment for their injuries, including pain and suffering, medical expenses, and loss of wages and future earning capacity.
